The Laboratory of Stage Acting and Speech, of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Patras, on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Spyridon Pereciadis in Messorrougi, Achaia and the 130th anniversary of the first presentation of his play ” Golfo “, organizes under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Education scientific and artistic events at the Conference Centre of the University of Patras, the Department of Theatre Studies and the Regional and Municipal Theatre of Patras (Barry Hall), from 16 to 25 October 2024.

On 16/10/2024 the opening of the multi-art exhibition will take place at the Conference Centre of the University of Patras, which will last until 25/10/2024 and is part of the Welcome UP Festival, with the support of the I&E Topalis Foundation. The exhibition will present art installations, video art and other image, sound and speech creations by young artists and students of the Department of Theatre Studies.

In the work Love Forever, Ophis ophiodectos, an art installation by nine artists, we find the courtyard of Golfo, her tearful embroidery, a wedding dinner that never took place, undefined words, images like shadows and heavy flies/curses all around, which resurrect the atmosphere of a love that was only fulfilled by death.

The work ¨Tris perdikules kathontai ke pinune tabbacco¨ is an experimental approach to S.Pereciadis’ Golfo. It is a collaboration of four visual artists, which, starting from the study of this idyllic drama, through its deconstruction and with different aesthetic references and directions, resulted in a deliberately heterogeneous audiovisual work and an artist book.

“Golfo’s Monologues” is the result of a playwriting workshop that led to the publication of the result and will be presented in an original way. All the details of the groups participating in the Multiaxial Exhibition here:
