ESERO Greece, the Office established by the European Space Agency (ESA) in Greece, based at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is organizing its first annual event, entitled “ESERO Greece Symposium 2024”, on Saturday 28 September 2024, at the Ceremonial Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The event is dedicated to Space and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and aims to inspire primary and secondary school teachers, pupils and students in Space and STEM sciences.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to listen to renowned speakers, learn about the innovative activities of the European Space Agency and ESERO, interact with the speakers and be inspired by the debate on space exploration and exploitation. In addition, they will have the opportunity to network with other educators, watch demonstration experiments from ESA educational material and participate in original STEM activities.

The main speakers of the event are:

Adrianos Golemis, astronaut physician at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) of the European Space Agency (ESA), the first Greek to pass all six stages of European astronaut selection (2022).

Angeliki Pappa, founder/CEO & curriculum manager of ‘I love dyslexia’ EFL school, founder/CEO of edu-tech Startup ‘I love dyslexia’ English Language Innovation & founder/Chairman of 3Dlexia Cosmos for innovation in Education. In 2020 she was elected as the first Greek teacher in the 1st group of 500 Astronaut Candidate Citizens by Space for Humanity (USA).

Georgios Vergos, Professor, Department of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Georgios Tsakumis, President of TEE/Division of Central Macedonia, General Manager of Consortis, Member of the Greek Cooperative Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-Cluster).

Elias Tsitsios, PhD candidate in Space Law, Department of Law, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Stavros Koukioglou, Physicist, General Secretary of the Friends of Astronomy Club, National Coordinator of Astronomy Education (NAEC).
