The Teloglion Foundation announces the 5th Panhellenic Painting Competition, in memory of the important painter of Thessaloniki Loukas Venetoulias; If you are an artist between 18-35 years old (adult, born from 01-01-1989) you can participate by submitting your painting creation until Friday 31 May!

The topic of this year’s 5th competition is “Animals and us“. The title can be interpreted in many ways. You can choose the one you want. After all, the relationship between humans and animals has been unbreakable from ancient times to the present day. It is sometimes characterised by love and care and sometimes by exploitation and abuse. Animals have been a source of food and clothing, useful helpers in work and transport, guardians and companions. They were sacrificed to the gods, offered as gifts, and used to detect disease and crime. Their interaction can be found from the Homeric Epics to the Aesop’s Myths, in mythological episodes, pottery, works of philosophers, poems, literary books, anecdotes and comics.

A five-member jury, to be announced shortly, will select four works from among the entries and the best of them will be awarded a symbolic sum of money. The remaining three works will be awarded equal praise. The four selected works will remain in the Collection of the Teloglion Foundation.

The deadline for submitting works is Friday 31 May 2024 (Monday-Friday, 10:00-15:00). The works of the competition will be exhibited in the exhibition space of the Teloglion Foundation in 2024.
