The 2nd Festival of Children’s Theatre Groups entitled “THESSTIVALAKI” is organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Vafopouleio Cultural Centre and the Cultural and Educational Association “Lyrikos Mikros Planitis” from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 June 2023 at Nea Elvetia Park.

“THESSTIVALAKI” is held for the second year, with the aim of promoting children’s theatre. The opening of the Festival will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 18:00. This year’s Festival is under the auspices of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. The 2nd “THESSTIVALAKI” includes 12 theatrical performances, with the participation of respective children’s theatre groups, cultural clubs and other institutions (children aged 6-12 years).

Within the framework of the five-day festival, theatrical and pedagogical activities, creative games, musical events, etc. will take place.  Artists, theatre teachers, children’s book authors and musicians will participate in the parallel activities and these actions are implemented with the assistance of the State Theatre of Northern Greece, the Pedagogical Department of Preschool Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Thessaly and the Public IEK Triandria.

The closing ceremony of the 2nd Festival of Children’s Theatre Groups will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 21:00.

The entrance will be free for the public.

In case of rain the theatrical performances will take place at the Vafopoulio Cultural Centre (G. Vafopoulos 3).
