Description

An intensive three-day workshop on Cinematography in Film at the Department of Film, School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The workshop will take place on September 17, 18, and 19, 2025, in Thessaloniki. It includes two days of indoor shooting and one day of outdoor shooting. During the program, participants will become familiar with the modern equipment of the Film Department at AUTH, lighting for faces and scenes, as well as the operation of various cameras. The two days of indoor shooting will explore different lighting conditions such as film noir, comedy, and others. On the third day, participants will learn to handle daylight during outdoor shoots. Special emphasis will be placed on visual storytelling and how it is achieved through the use of anamorphic and spherical lenses, as well as camera positioning. The duration will be eight hours each day, and the cost is 250 euros. A discount policy is also available.

The instructor is Panagiotis Salapatas, Professor of Cinematography at the Film Department of AUTH and member of the Greek Society of Cinematographers (GSC).
