Description

The Graduate Studies Programme (M.Sc.) “Tourism Business and Destination Management” aims to provide high quality postgraduate education, to graduates, in the fields of Management of Tourism Destinations or of relevant sectors by focusing on the Management of Tourism Enterprises and Tourism Destinations.

The Programme has the following objectives:

  • Provide specialized operational knowledge and skills, to managers of tourism businesses, organisations, and agencies in the public and private sector.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in matters of viability and sustainability and their application in the management of tourism destinations, in terms of economy, society and environment (natural and artificial).
  • Provide high quality knowledge for efficient and effective management of natural, artificial, economic, technological and human resources, in the context of new trends and developments in the tourism sector.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in matters of cultural heritage in tourism management and event management, within the context of different types of tourism that promote the mitigation of seasonality and improve the service quality in tourism destinations.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in digital marketing and intelligent tourism systems.
  • Advance the knowledge in the area of management of tourism destinations and enterprises as well as to foster the development of academic research in relevant scientific areas.
  • Shape future academics.

The Graduate Studies Programme “Tourism Business and Destination Management” awards a Postgraduate degree in the following specializations:

  • Sc. Degree in Tourism Business and Destination Management, specializing in Tourism Destination Management, and
  • Sc. Degree in Tourism Business and Destination Management, specializing in Tourism Business Management.

The Programme is addressed to Universities and Technological Education Institutes graduates of the country and of recognized universities abroad, as well as to:

  • Executives of tourism businesses and organizations in the public and private sector,
  • Specialized educational, scientific, or administrative staff of all levels of public and private education,
  • Tourism and business management professionals.

The Programme accepts fifty (50) students annually.

The Programme offers the possibility of a full postgraduate study with a duration of three (3) semesters, where students are attending the first two semesters and must successfully progress in 5 (five) courses per semester, while in the third semester they are required to submit a postgraduate thesis.

Courses are taught in the Greek language. The thesis is written either in Greek or in English.
