The MSc in “Studies in Mathematics” awards a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies with further specialization in one of the following areas:

• “Mathematics Theory”
• “Applied Mathematics”

The programme aims at deepening the knowledge of Theoretical and Applied Mathematics, as well as the mathematical treatment of theoretical and technological problems that arise in the Sciences.

It also provides the necessary knowledge and research methodologies to those who wish to undertake a PhD thesis.

The courses are taught by professors of the Department of Mathematics and the programme does not require tuition fees.

The announcement is published before the start of the winter and spring semesters of each academic year.

Attendance may be full or part-time. The minimum duration of full-time study is three (3) academic semesters and the maximum is six (6) academic semesters unless there are proven serious and exceptional reasons.

The courses are taught entirely through distance learning tools. The examinations are held in person at the Department’s headquarters in Samos.

Postgraduate students who fall into specific categories of graduates and hold a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies from corresponding schools in Greece, may, on a case-by-case basis, be exempted from the examination of postgraduate courses in which they successfully passed the previous Diploma.
