The National Historical Museum (ΝΗΜ), on the occasion of the anniversary of October 28, co-organized with the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace and the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle Foundation an exhibition entitled “Bringing History to Life,” dedicated to the Greco-Italian War of 1940-1941, the Occupation of 1941-1944, and the Macedonian Struggle.

The ΝΗΜ has developed thematic sections relating to the Greco-Italian War and the Occupation, using unique artifacts from its collections. An emblematic exhibit among them is Pericles Byzantios’ work “Mobilization in Delphi,” a recent acquisition of the Museum. The Occupation section presents, among other things, the complete works of Frederick Carabott, in which the artist captured his personal experience as a prisoner in a direct and vivid manner. The works belong to a private collection and were kindly loaned to the ΝΗΜ exclusively for the purposes of the exhibition.
