
The Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy is organizing a two-day meeting on “Folk traditions of Pindos: Space and People” on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the conference center of the National Reconciliation Park (Livadia Kotylis, Grammos).
The two-day meeting at the National Reconciliation Park is dedicated to the folk traditions of the Pindos region and their relationship with the area and its people. A wide range of issues will be discussed, such as the recording of people’s experiences, legends, music, customs, the sense of place, and local architectural traditions. Distinguished writers, folklorists, and historians will have the opportunity to discuss these and many other topics.
Vasilis Gourgiannis, Panagiotis Kamilakis, Dimitra Mytili, Paraskevas Potiropos, and Kalliopi Stara will chat with Katerina Liampi about people and folk traditions in the first session on Saturday, September 13, 2025. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Stefanos Tsidoulos will have the opportunity in the second session to exchange views on the subject with Christos Angelopoulos, Nikolaos Anastasopoulos, Dimitris Kounavos, Christos Merantzas, Aikaterini Polymirou-Kamalakis, and Thodoris Siontis.
The two-day event, held in the uniquely beautiful setting of the Park, is an opportunity for the public to meet prominent Greek scientists, hear their concerns, and discuss them with them.
