From February 20 to 24, 2026, the Epigraphic Museum will host a series of temporary exhibitions organized by the Theogonia Art Community – Ex Libris.

Theogonia is the Greek branch of the International Federation of Ex Libris Societies (FISAE – Fédération Intérnationalé dés Sociétés d’Amatéurs d’Ex-Libris). Ex Libris are bookplates, i.e. small artistic inserts printed on paper and affixed to the inside cover of a book to indicate its owner.

They are small works of art crafted using techniques such as woodcut, copperplate engraving, and linocut. The phrase is Latin and means “from the books of…” or “from the library of…”. They usually depict coats of arms, emblems, quotations or drawings, as well as the name of the book’s owner. During the events, works by foreign artists will be presented.
