The continuation of archaeological research at the junction of Erechtheion and N. Kallisperis streets, within a rectangular, built structure, yielded new findings. These are fragments of sculptures, upper and lower limbs, which are probably related to the statue of Hermes that has already been recovered, the torso of a second statue, also of a life-size male figure, placed on its right side, fragments of a figurine, as well as a large number of lamps of the 5th century AD.
All the finds that have already been recovered have been transferred to the conservation laboratories of the Athens City Antiquities Ephorate, where the conservation and restoration work will begin in the near future. The investigation will exhaust every possibility of locating other finds, as well as the full documentation of the conditions of discarding and the site where the finds were located. It is obvious that this unique find, which sheds light on one of the most interesting chapters of history, that of the end of antiquity, requires due diligence and unstinting work by the scientific staff of the Curatorial Department, so that the research and restoration of the whole can be completed as soon as possible.
