The Centre for the Integration of Immigrants and the Counselling Centre of the Department of Social Policy and Equality of the Department of Social Protection of the Municipality of Chania in collaboration with the Municipal Library of Chania of the Department of Libraries and Children’s Creative Activity Centres of the Department of Culture and Sports, starts a cycle of psycho-educational activities aimed at teenagers, high school students.

The training sessions for high school students entitled “Unraveling the tangle of diversity” will take place every Wednesday 09:00-12:00 for the period October-December 2024, at the Medialab of the Municipal Library of Chania.

The aim is the psycho-education and awareness-raising of students on issues related to the sphere of diversity as well as the prevention of racism and xenophobia, through discussions and appropriately designed experiential workshops.

The educator, Ms. Pantelaki Irini and the psychologist, Ms. Balogianni Christina, of the Immigrant Integration Centre of the Municipality of Chania are responsible for the planning and implementation of the above actions.

The message of the actions is that “different is not foreign” and “each one of us is different, therefore special and deserving of respect”.

Teachers can choose the programme and the date they wish to participate. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
