The “Modern Latin-Greek Dictionary” is distinguished for its scientificity, completeness and breadth. Its vocabulary extends from Archaic Roman literature to the 9th century AD. One hundred and fifty years after the dictionaries of Koumanoudis-Ullerichos (1854) and Tsakalotos (1889), it fills a great gap in Greek bibliography. The entries of the Dictionary (about 70,000) have a two-part structure. The first part includes prosody, any alternative orthographic or phonetic types of the word, grammatical recognition, etymology, morphological deviations and the syntactic behaviour of the word. The second part presents the semantic range of the lemmatized word with its various meanings and provides original Latin passages as examples of the semantic cases. In addition, names of persons and geographical names, as well as scientific terms occurring in Roman literature are included and brief relevant information is provided. The above features make the “Modern Latin-Greek Dictionary” a valid and valuable tool not only for teachers, researchers and students in the field of Philology, but also for other sciences, such as History, Archaeology, Law, Theology, Medicine, Pharmacology, Pharmacology, Botany, Zoology, Astronomy, Architecture.
