The Epirus Artistic Scene SYNTHESIS presents its first edition.

The poetry collection of Yorgos Nakos, “T’Antilaika” will be presented on Monday, December 16, at 20:00 at the hall of the Society for Epirotic Studies. The book will be presented by Professor Emeritus Katerini Liampi, President of the Society, while actors and students of Yorgos Nakos will speak about it and read poems and excerpts from it: Tasos Nousias, Theodora Tzimou and Danae Fotis. The publication includes 35 poems by the renowned director Yorgos Nakos and also includes an essay on ancient tragedy.

The event, which takes place in collaboration with the Society for Epirotic Studies, will be attended by members of the theatre group SYNTHESIS, of which Yorgos Nakos is an honorary member and holds the unpaid position of dramaturgical advisor.

Yorgos Nakos’ collaboration with the Epirus Artistic Stage began in 2018 with his participation in the theatrical event “Stanislavski meets Brecht” and continued with the direction of five performances, including “Antigone’s Journey” which was presented at the Ancient Theatre of Dodona, the highly successful “The Mother of the Dog” (Part A and Part B), “Spitting image of the deceased” and “The Bandit”.

SYNTHESIS, wishing to honour this tireless worker of the Theatre for his many years and multilevel contribution to letters and the arts, proceeded to the publication of his poetry collection “T’ antilaika” which is an important literary work in proportion to his great artistic career.

SYNTHESIS would like to thank in particular the Society of Continental Studies and its president Mrs Liampi Katerini and the sculptor Theodoros Papagiannis, whose works adorn the cover of the publication and the poster of the event.
