The biggest dance band of the African continent takes to the stage of the Megaron and takes us on a journey to the rhythms of Cuba and the music of West Africa. The legendary Orchestra Baobab, one of the biggest and most iconic bands in the history of music, celebrates 50 years since its foundation with a European tour starting in February 2022. Adored both in their homeland, Senegal, and around the world, Baobab hold a special place in the history of African pop music.

They were one of the most important bands that created the Afrolatin sound of the 1970s, combining Cuban rhythms with African melodies. Their epic story begins in the 1960s in the heart of the Medina of Dakar and continues to this day all over the world. They have twenty-four widely acclaimed albums to their credit, and their collaborations with major names on the international music scene, such as Ibrahim Ferrer of Buena Vista Social Club, Cheikh Ibra Fam, Youssou N’Dour and Dave Matthews, are unforgettable.
