On Friday 9 September at 21.00, two legends of the local hip hop scene, Taki Tsan and Phyrosun, will come to the Panorama Stairs of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) for a live show with new, unreleased tracks, as well as older material that includes some of the most classic anthems of Greek rap. Behind the decks of the stage, the tireless beatmaker Rsn. The concert is free of charge thanks to the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
Founding member of ZN (Zontani Nekri) and Tigre Sporakia, solo rapper as Waze, Tymborichos and, of course, Paidi Thaumas, Taki Tsan is one of the most important figures of Greek hip hop since the second half of the 90s, when he took his first steps. Apart from his position behind the microphone, he has also been involved in the scene from the position of producer, he is one of the best Athenian tattoo artists and in recent years he has reinvented himself as a “modern rebetiko”, learning bagpipes and embracing the culture of rebetiko. Always inventive, an exemplary user of social media, he combines all his skills on his YouTube channel, TSANNEL.
Joining him, in a Music Escapades evening dedicated to rhymes, is Phyrosun. Also a member of the scene since the late 90s, also busy and versatile. He has participated in hip hop crews, has collaborated with all the big names rapping in Greek, and has five albums signed by him since 2008. At the same time, he has been involved in theatre. His great love remains basketball, having worn the jersey of many teams of the Athenian suburbs.
