A sneak peek from the first part of GENER8ION “NEO SURF” gives us an idea of what is to follow, with an impressive installation at Stegi-Onassis Foundation in January 2022.
How can beauty fit into an Apocalypse? Four and a half minutes in Athens in 2034, through a music video that grabs and throws us in parts of the city that we have seen thousands of times but could never have imagined them in this way. Amongst surfers, samurai swords and ostriches, in the post-apocalyptic Athens of 2034, French-Greek filmmaker Romain Gavras, who has directed some of the most subversive music videos for the likes of Kanye Wes, M.I.A., Jay-Z, and Justice, along with composer and DJ Surkin, present the music video of “Neo Surf”, the first part of the GENER8ION project, co-produced by Onassis Culture and iconoclast.tv; shot in its entirety in Athens, with the participation of 070 Shake.

And this is just the beginning. The GENER8ION universe comes to life from January 8 to February 27, 2022, in the Onassis Stegi exhibition hall, in a multimedia pop installation about a future that feels like the present.
GENER8ION is a multi-themed collaborative project led by producer and composer Surkin and director Romain Gavras. The universe of the GENER8ION project is set in the near future, in 2034, in a ruined world without a vision for the future, with a riddle-like poetry embodied by lazy young people and lurking violence. But this is not a post-apocalyptic scenario, because the Apocalypse, just like the future, is already here.
The video clip is the first in a series of audiovisual works of art that combine innovative formats and screenings in unexpected spaces. The installation in Onassis Stegi will consist of three audiovisual works, presented for the first time worldwide.
