The dance on Sunday afternoon, February 9th, met with music, with more than 800 members of the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras transforming the closed gym “D. Tofalos” into a vast dance “workshop”.

The reason for what happened on the dance floor of “D. Tofalos” was the cutting of the Dance Company’s cake, but the reason will always be the uniqueness of the creative and imaginative amateur expression that the members of the Dance Department bring out every moment.

More than 2,000 citizens of Patras were in the stands of the gymnasium and enjoyed a unique dance program presented by all sections of the dance team from 5 years old and above.

Young and old, dance dances from all over Greece, leaving once again through the steps of dance their own strong imprint in the cultural life of the region.

The vasilopita was cut by the Deputy Mayor of Culture Apostolis Angelis who gave a short address. He was introduced by the head of the Dance and Councillor Christos Giannopoulos. The event was attended by the president of the Public Benefit “Carnival of Patras” Pavlos Skouras, municipal – departmental councillors, members of the Cultural Committee of the Municipality of Patras and representatives of associations.
