Approximately 190 new aromatic plants were planted – mainly lavender, rosemary, myrtle and thyme –, the park’s infrastructure was renovated and the lighting will be enhanced with an autonomous photovoltaic system.
The new “pocket park” created in Sepolia, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Athens with P&G, and implemented by the Organization Earth, in the framework of the program “Adopt your city“, is another bioclimatic pocket and a ‘green breath’ within the urban landscape of Athens.
The design and construction of the pocket park of Sepolia was based on the principles of sustainable development and circular economy. Approximately 190 new aromatic plants were planted – mainly lavender, rosemary, myrtle and thyme –, the park’s infrastructure was renovated and the lighting will be enhanced with an autonomous photovoltaic system in order to reduce light pollution. In addition, some existing elements, such as the impressive mural created by the Atenistas team, were preserved and renewed.
The pocket park in Sepolia is the third park created with the cooperation of the Municipality of Athens with “P&G” and the Organization Earth, and the fifth one in Athens in total.
