In the Regional Championship of Southern Greece, organized by the Nautical Sports Club of Pylos “Nestor”, from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 February, participated the Sailing Club of Patras with 4 athletes in the ILCA 4 category and 7 athletes in the Optimist category.

102 sailors from 10 groups had registered for the races in both categories.

According to the final results in the ILCA category 4 athletes of the Patras club took the 1st place overall and 1st place in girls Douska Olga-Theodora and 1st place in boys Daniel Evangelos, 4th place in girls Ariadne Dakounaki and 6th place Artemis Kartezini. In the Optimist category the athletes Argiros Ioannis, Koutsouropoulous Filippos and Koutsouropoulos Panagiotis won the 2nd, 3rd and 6th place in the general and boys’ categories respectively. In the athletes under 13 years of age 2nd place Panagiotis Koutsouropoulos.

The above athletes acquired the right to participate in the qualification of the national team in these categories.

The mission of the Patras Sailing Club also consisted of the athletes Marios Matthaiopoulos (27th), Leonidas Argyros (31st), Iordanis Karakapilidis (38th) and Telemachos Polychronopoulos in Optimist and were accompanied by the coaches George Hadjikonstantinou and Aristotle Kouloubis Kalogeropoulos.
