The first “Park for everyone”, in the area of Toumba, which will be a space for coexistence and at the same time a new green lung, is expected to be attributed to the use of citizens in the summer. Today (24/02) the mayor of Thessaloniki Konstantinos Zervas, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of technical works and sustainable mobility Efraim Kyrizidis, inspected the site’s configuration work.

“The area of Toumba will very soon acquire a new green lung, a space for children, a park for everyone, a beautiful and bright place that deserves so much,” Thessaloniki Mayor Konstantinos Zervas said in a statement. Works to create the park for all are proceeding within the prescribed timescales.

“Space is slowly transforming. The infrastructure and network works have already been completed and from now on the configurations of the site will begin. We hope that in the summer the space will be delivered fully functional to our fellow citizens, ” said Efraim Kyrizidis, Deputy Mayor of technical works and sustainable mobility.

The Model “Park for everyone” is constructed in the area between Grigoriou Lambrakis, Pafsilypou and Olympia streets. As part of the ongoing project, a park based on the principle of equal access for all is being created with a dedicated activity area for people with disabilities.
