Elias Giannakakis records a peculiar event: how a low key and discreet artist reveals himself, after death, not only to distant strangers, but also to his own friends and affiliates. The documentary is the vessel by which we will not only get to know Lakis but also the historic production company Cinetic and the other great documentary filmmaker and cofounder of Cinetic, the stochastic director Takis Chatzopoulos.

The director began filming the initial setup of the LAKIS PAPASTATHIS: In Search of the Lost Image on 2 April, speaking with thirty of the director’s former and more recent collaborators against the backdrop of the exhibits and exhibition spaces. The exhibition and the accompanying commemorative volume, LAKIS PAPASTATHIS: Long Shot, reveals its breadth, depth and significance.
