The registration of new members of the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras for the dance season 2024-2025 has begun and will last until Monday 30 September.

These are only for new members and not for those who participated in any of the Dance Department’s sections during the previous dance year (2023-2024). Registrations can only be made online and through the Dance Department website.

The teaching of the new classes will begin on Monday 30 September, according to the rehearsal schedule of the dance department for the halls in the harbour and Tarambura.

Anyone aged 5 years and above can become a new member of the Dance Department, while registration, teaching and general participation in the activities of the Dance Department is free of charge (in the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patras no one pays and no one is paid – both for the students and the teachers).

Important clarification on the difference between intensive and recreational sections:

The intensive classes are for people up to 35 years old and aim to prepare the participants for the performance classes. They are twice a week and the exercise is strenuous and persistent. Two consecutive absences will result in the person being removed from the class.

The recreational classes are usually attended by older people or people who just want to get in touch with folk dance without more obligations. These classes have one in three absences. Here, too, the training is governed by the rules that apply to the entire Dance Department.
