From October 2024 to date, children and adults are enthusiastically participating in the programmes of the Creative Learning Centres of the ΟPΑNDA. Now, they proudly present to the public their work and progress through a month dedicated to creative expression, a great celebration where we will discover, all together, what unites us: the power of creativity.
The Mayor of Athens, Harris Dukas said: “Art and creation have the power to open up paths of communication, inspiration and cohesion within the city. Through OPANDA’s Creative Learning Centres, Athens has acquired a vibrant cultural vein that unites people of all ages. The massive participation – over 6,000 adults and children participated in the annual creative learning programmes – confirms that creativity is a need and a right. The Municipality of Athens will continue to invest in actions that enhance participation and build communities based on culture.”
The President of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens, Eleni Zontirou said: “The Month of Artistic Creation and Expression is not just a series of events; it is the mirror of the creative soul of our citizens. This year again, the high participation in the Creative Learning programmes highlighted the power of cooperation, imagination and perseverance. My sincere thanks to all the participants, teachers and teams who shared their talents. OPANDA continues to consistently foster participation, expression and artistic culture, because culture belongs to everyone.”
From 10 May to 15 June 2025, the city will be filled with art, colours, music and emotions as the Creative Learning Centres are transformed into vibrant cultural centres to host the events of the Month of Artistic Creation and Expression. The events include art workshops, painting exhibitions, theatre performances, traditional dances, piano concerts and choral ensembles, offering the public a multifaceted artistic programme that showcases the talents of the participants.
It is a special period where young and old share the experiences and feelings they have gained from the lessons, turning knowledge into action and learning into a celebration. The result is a dynamic set of activities where creativity, imagination and collaboration are expressed through every form of art.
