On Sunday, February 15, 2026, the 29th Book Fair 2026 came to an end after 24 days at Klathmonos Square. The Fair was organized by the Greek Publishers’ Association and the Panhellenic Federation of Book Publishers and Booksellers , under the auspices of the City of Athens and with the support of the City of Athens Organization for Culture, Sports, and Youth.
As President Konstantinos Angelakis and Secretary General Evangelia Chyti characteristically state in their joint statement: “The bazaar was a success again this year, leaving an excellent impression on readers and the general public in Athens and beyond. Thousands of visitors of all ages responded to the call of the institution, confirming that books remain a living cell of culture and a key reference point in the public life of the city.”
It is worth noting that this year’s event closed on a festive note, as on Sunday, February 15, the Athens Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra visited Klathmonos Square, treating visitors to a special musical performance and an optimistic finale to another successful year for the institution.
