The engraving symposium entitled “Liberation from Suffocation”, organized by the Municipality of Patras in collaboration with the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, was once again transformed on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 May into a “knowledge hub” for students of local schools.

The ten engravers who participated in the symposium “introduced” the art of engraving to dozens of children who visited the symposium, which took place in the former DEYAP building at 48 Akti Dymaion.

With the guidance of the artists, the young students made their own creations. The artists answered questions and encouraged the children to enter the world of creation from an early age.

On Thursday 29 May, at the premises of the former DEYAP (Akti dimaion 48), the cycle of the “Liberation from Suffocation” Engraving Symposium, organized by the Municipality of Patras in collaboration with the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, came to an end.

The closing of the Symposium was accompanied by the presentation to the public of the works created by the ten engravers. The works will subsequently adorn spaces in the city.

In addition to the “exhibition” of the works, a special participatory action by Athina Kanela entitled “Urban Traces: A Collective Imprint”, which started at 6.30 pm.

The end of the works was marked by the concert of the percussion ensemble “Crusis” of the Municipal Conservatory of Patras “Mikis Theodorakis”, under the direction of Maxim Mankovskiy.
