The InnerLand Project will be presented to the public on Friday, November 28, at Thiseio, through the first workshop in the series “Workshop with the Artist” entitled “For many years I went to bed early,” featuring artist Nana Sachini.
The InnerLand Project, in collaboration with Artconnect, is an initiative that explores the psychological and psychoanalytical dimensions of art. It was created by Nora Kontostergiou (psychologist, psychoanalytic psychotherapist) and Charikleia Papapostolou (mixed-media artist), and focuses on how the creative process enhances self-awareness, emotional transformation, and existential exploration.

In each cycle, the artist’s work is not simply presented, but “activated” through an experiential workshop, where participants are invited to approach it in a direct and sensory way. Art becomes an occasion for observation, participation, and inner exploration, transforming the artistic act into a living space of experience, dialogue, and emotional movement.
The workshop “For many years I went to bed early” takes its title from the first volume of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, in which the narrator wakes up one night and, feeling confused, reminisces about his childhood while trying to recall his memories from that time and his experiences of adulthood. This experience is the beginning of a journey through time, memory, and the search for (lost) meaning in the world.
In the workshop, participants will return to their childhood memories through creative action, constructing small installations from conventional and unconventional materials and placing their “selves” within them in a paradoxical way, which will be revealed during the process.
The workshop also served as the occasion for the first vidcast in the InnerLand Conversations by InnerLand Project series, in which Nana Sachini introduces us to her artistic world.
About the Artist:
Nana Sachini holds a Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, as well as a degree from the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In her multifaceted work, which includes sculptures, installations, painting, drawing, and performance, she explores the concept of “body-form-identity-sexuality-ethics-politics-poetry” as an inseparable whole. (Bio)politics, philosophy, literature, psychoanalysis, anthropology, but also the banality of everyday life are fields of knowledge and research for her work.
She has presented her work in Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, the USA, Austria, Germany, and Lebanon, and her works are included in the DD Collection – Dimitris Daskalopoulos, at MOMus Thessaloniki, as well as in private collections. She is a founding member of the live-art group “Kangaroo Court.”
