Mon Coin Studio, the space that has established itself as a reference point for contemporary Greek ceramic art, celebrates its five years of operation with a special anniversary exhibition at its studio at 7 Thissiou Street, Monastiraki, marking a course full of creation, inspiration and exhibitions.
It is a retrospective exhibition of selected works from the 12 exhibitions that have taken place at Mon Coin Studio over the last five years and will run until 31 January 2025. At the same time, the space will host works by the students of the renowned ceramist and teacher Nikos Sklavenitis, founder of the ” Iridanos” school, reflecting the fresh perspective of the new generation of ceramists in shaping the Greek ceramic scene.
Since 2019, Mon Coin Studio is a multidimensional cultural space with the mission to promote the work of Greek ceramists, who often lack visibility, and to establish Greek ceramics in the international artistic field. Through its collaboration with the non-profit company Greek Ceramix Contemporary, Mon Coin Studio has organized 12 thematic exhibitions—Ancient Vibes in contemporary ceramics, Aigaio, Keramiko design vol.1 & vol.2, Ceramic Art – painting and sculpture, Ceramic journey around Greece (vol.1:Sifnos, vol.2: Crete, vol.3: Lesvos), Kourasani, L’été grec, Ceramic Jewelry (JELO6), Women ceramic artists of Greece (3 sessions)—showcasing the variety of techniques and styles that characterize contemporary ceramic art. A special place among them is occupied by the exhibition dedicated to female contemporary Greek ceramics, as well as the summer events dedicated to regions of Greece with an important pottery tradition, highlighting the cultural diversity of the country.
Looking ahead, Mon Coin Studio is expanding its activities abroad, bringing contemporary Greek ceramic art closer to an international audience. With a firm commitment to quality, it continues to serve its vision: to support the artists who will shape the future of Greek ceramic art.
