The art of the internationally acclaimed Cypriot artist, moving between visual realism and modern painting, is distinguished by its intense theatricality, expressiveness and the constant exploration of the face and the form of the human body. His visual universe, a profoundly personal universe, converses with man as person and place as landscape in a contemplative journey through personal and collective history.
His literary work, balancing between personal myth and realistic observation, stands out for its confessional mood, its psychoanalytical view and its subtle sarcastic and self-deprecating style. His autobiographical and revealing discourse embodies the ethical stance of an intellectual who dares to tell his truth with disarming honesty, modesty and consistency.
As a journalist, Karagian contributed with his interventions and articles to the development of public dialogue and critical spirit on critical social issues, as well as on the Cypriot and global cultural scene, without hesitating to express opinions against the mainstream, defending individual rights, intellectual freedom and the deeper essence of art as an act of self-knowledge and resistance to any establishment.
