The Speech and Art Association “Alkyonides”, the “Art Center” (Aegean Marble Art Museum) and the publications “Tade Efi“, on Saturday September 2, 2023 at 20:00 at the Temple of Apollo in Ancient Corinth will hold a performance art event entitled “The Myth of Asclepius“. The event in question is based on the book “Asclepian Self-healing” by Ph.D. Dimitris Pantazidis. It is hosted by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth and is under the auspices of the Non-profit organization for culture, sport, environment of the Municipality of Corinth
Essentially, this is the 1st Meeting of “Asclepian Self-healing” and is structured in six parts:
- Lectures:
- former Rector of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Theodosis Pellegrinis
- ΝKUA Dr. Apostolos E. Papafotiou (civil engineer ΝTUA)
- Emmanouel Evmolpos Tsamis, “TADE EFI” publications
- One-act play: “Arsinoe” Troupe Konstantinos Bisdas. The actors involved:

- Penelope Kanati
- Marianna Gioti
- Vocal ensemble of choral performance “Ode of Supplication Orphic Hymn” to Asclepius:
- Anastasia Gorantonaki-Agkistrioti, Kostas Seitanidis
- Recitation of Orphic hymn to Asclepius:
- Ermais Nikolaidi
- Translation and Desymbolization of Passages from the Hymns:
- Ασκληπιού, Υγίειας.
- Ιncubation simulation with background sound:
- The sixth part of the event includes a short experiential experience simulating the incubation, as a possible version of the process that took place during the first stage of the beggars’ stay in the “Abaton” of Asclepius as a preparation before the incubation ritual.
