
Aiming to raise awareness about autism in society and at the same time celebrating the Children’s Book Day, the two-day activities with the participation of the educational community started on Monday, April 07 in Agia.
The first day included the speech by the special education teacher Sapanidou Konstantina on the subject of autism and entitled “With the gaze turned to Nicholas”, while immediately afterwards there was the presentation of the value of the book “The Cave of Philoctetes” by the author Kotzamanoglou Zafiria and then a discussion with the students of the schools.
This was followed by the dramatization of roles from the book “The Cave of Philoctetes” by ENEEGYL Larissa and the highlighting of the importance of awareness and the value of children with autistic syndrome, while the best texts of the educational community were awarded.
The events will continue on Tuesday, 08 April, with the following programme:

- 10:15 Addresses
- 10:30 Presentation, by the educator – writer Tsakiri Leto, specializing in mental health, on the topic: “The best parents in the world” and songs from her musical fairy tales related to the promotion of the value of respect and acceptance of diversity.
- 11:15- Presentation, by the special educator – General Director Houliaros Dimitrios of the ”KDAP EY ZIN”, for the use of digital media to address communication and speech difficulties in disability and especially in Autism.
- 11:30 Presentation “How they would like the world to be if they had a magic wand” by a group of people with disabilities from the “KDAP EY ZIN” in order to highlight their difficulties in everyday life, and suggestions for dealing with them.
- Rewarding the best texts from the educational community.
