The rooftop of the Historical Archives-Museum of Hydra, with its atmospheric charm and artistic pulse, welcomes a special musical evening on Sunday, July 27, set against the backdrop of the sunset and the scent of the Aegean. The concert promises a melodic journey through bilingual songs, Greek melodies, and an emotional finale dedicated to the Cypriot musical tradition
Three important musicians come together in a program that unites cultures, generations, and musical references. At the center of the stage is the voice of Marios Andreou – a Cypriot lyric singer with an international presence and a repertoire exceeding 750 concerts in 18 countries – bringing color and theatricality to the program. Andreou, with studies at the National Music Academy of Sofia and international awards, combines lyrical technique with intense expressiveness, turning every song into a narrative
On the piano, Anastasia Sorra accompanies the performances with sensitivity and dynamism, connecting classical training with a contemporary artistic approach. A certified pianist and graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), with significant teaching and artistic activity, she emphasizes musicality and freedom of interpretation, making her accompaniment not merely supportive but creative and participatory.
The performance is complemented by the distinctive presence of Georgia Kompou, the first female bouzouki player from Cyprus, with over 40 years of active career. With awards from the Global Music Awards and collaborations with top Greek creators—from Mikis Theodorakis to Thanasis Polykandriotis—Georgia combines technical virtuosity with authentic folk rhythm, bringing to the stage a soundscape deeply rooted in Greek and Cypriot identity.
The concert will begin with beloved bilingual songs, will pass through iconic Greek compositions, and will culminate with traditional and contemporary Cypriot sounds—a bridge from the Mediterranean to the heart of the listener.
