After the extremely successful organization of the 2nd Alternative Tourism and Experience Festival – 260Kmemories, the Municipality of Chania continues the actions aimed at promoting the inland and the alternative experiences that can be experienced by locals and visitors in the area.

So, on Saturday 25 May 2024 at 16:30, starting from Drakonas square in Keramia, the star trail of the Municipality of Chania, “welcomes” again adventure lovers, in a special hiking and stargazing route.

The star trail, which was designed and implemented last year by the Municipality of Chania in collaboration with the Association of Friends of Astronomy of Crete, is located in the area of Drakonas Keramia in Chania and is a passable, circular walking route at an altitude of 1,000 meters.

The route includes four (4) points – stargazing stops, star charts and information in Greek and English, to make it easier to identify the major constellations, such as those of the Little and the Big Dipper, Cassiopeia and Draconus.

It is an idyllic route, where the visitor, with the necessary equipment that can be purchased from the starting point, has the opportunity to observe the starry sky and photograph the constellations, in an area with extremely low levels of light pollution.
