The Mayor of Agia and the President of the Community Vasilieios Tsintzirakos, invite you to honour with your presence the festive events taking place, during the three-day period 28-30 October 2022, in Melivoia, according to the attached programme in the framework of the Chestnut Festival ‘The Fruits of the Melivia’s Land’

Friday 28 October
7:00pm In the area of the Primary School of Melivoya, speeches on the chestnut by:

- c) Dimitris Koutoulas, trainer of the “New Agriculture – New Generation” Organization,
d)Papadopoulos Panagiotis, trainer of the “New Agriculture – New Generation” Organization: open farms,
e)Petrou George, Founder and CEO of Pinios Brewery: “Chestnut in the food industry: use of chestnut in beer production”,
f)Dr. Topalidou Eleni, Researcher at the Institute of Forestry Research – ELGO DIMITRA: “The new disease of grey rot in chestnut”,
g)Dr. Diamanti Stefanos, Forestry – Entomopathologist: “Phaeo rot and wasp”
Saturday 29 October
9:30am hike on the Melivoya – Velika trail, meeting point Melivoya square
11:00am Chestnut cooking with the gastronomy trainer of the “New Georgia – New Generation” organization, Balafouti Gianna and experiential cooking workshop with children, at the square
12:30pm activities for children with the Scouts, in the square
7:00pm parade of the Orte Municipality of Italy delegation start Trani Fountain – finish School.
7:30pm Holy Mass – Exhibition Opening
8:00pm Greetings
8.00:00pm 8.00pm Music event with George Pangalos and Aida, organized – curated by B. Batsikas
The afternoon and evening events will take place in the area of the Primary School of Melivonia
Sunday 30 October
9:30am walk in chestnut fields, for young and old, and action on the farms to be visited, meeting point: Melivoya Primary School
11:30am presentation of an event by the mission “Grouppo sbandieratori delle 7 contrade di Orte” of the Municipality of Orte, Italy, in the square
12:00am presentation of traditional dances by the dance group of the M.P.S. of Agion “M. Dallas” with the participation of the partners of the European project TOPS, in the square
12:30pm chestnut-based cooking by executive chef Papadopoulos George, at the square
During the events of the two-day event, there will be exhibitors with local products and handmade creations of Larissa Prefecture
