Carnival “invitation” from the Municipality of Agia, for a party that will satisfy the carnivalists and visitors.

This year’s events are expected to be quite rich throughout the Municipality of Agia, since this year they are organized with the cooperation and support of the local Women’s, Cultural – Recreational, Parents and Guardians Associations.

More specifically: on Sunday, February 23, the carnival party of the Parents and Guardians Associations of the Primary and Kindergartens, in the Central Square of Agia starts at 11:30am with games and activities for the young carnivalists, animators for their entertainment, a rich buffet and a large raffle.

On Saturday 1 March the carnival events in Agia start at 4:30pm with jugglers, a parade of carnivalists, a bonfire and a traditional feast until late at night with the Gainde band.

On Sunday 02 March, in Agia and the villages of the Municipality of Agia, fires are lit from 7pm onwards, in: Aetolofo, Gerakari, Megalovryso, Metaxochori, Neromyli, Potamia, Stomio, Melivoia, Skiti, Koutsoupia and Velika where wine and delicacies will be offered, the donkey will dance and the King Karnavalos will be burned.

On Clean Monday 03 March, Lenten dishes, hot bean soup, wine and halva will be offered from 11 am in Agia, Anavra, Elafo, Karitsa, Sklithro, Sotiritsa, Skiti, Melivonia, Anatoli, Kastri, Amygdalis, Omolio and Palaiopyrgos.

In Stomio visitors will have the opportunity to taste cooked cuttlefish, wine and halva, a custom unique in Thessaly.
