The great musician and artist Konstantinos Vitas presents his new art exhibition and musical performance at “pi”, the historic Pikionis tavillon in Delphi, curated by Kika Kyriakakou, artistic director of the Polygreen Culture and Art Initiative (PCAI).

This is a new visual art project by Konstantinos Vitas in collaboration with PCAI, in direct dialogue with the important past of the architectural monument of Pikionis, with the historical significance of the Delphi area, as well as with the wider natural landscape and environment. The title of the programme is inspired by the first poetry anthology by the post-war poet Nikos-Alexis Aslanoglou (Diklos Death, 1954).

The present exhibition by Konstantinos Bhta and PCAI and the live music performance that will accompany it, inspired by Andreas Embiricos’ phrase, “Today as tomorrow and yesterday”, are interwoven with the work of Nikos-Alexis Aslanoglou and his artistic relationship with the past, memory and the present.

Konstantinos Bhta states: “Memory in the poetry of Nikos Alexis Aslanoglou is not only individual, it is collective, historical and deeply Greek. Through his writing and his personal experiences, the traumas and transformations of a country emerge – a memory of existential anguish and contemplation. Reading his poems created in me the need to create some images. His poetic discourse becomes a space of nostalgia, loss and awareness, reflecting the soul of modern Greece”.

Kika Kyriakakou, artistic director of PCAI, notes: “Konstantinos Bhta’s’ visual language is an exquisite expression of his multifaceted talent. During the exhibition and the musical compositions that accompany it, Bhtas’ work intertwines harmoniously with Aslanoglou’s lyrics and the Delphic landscape, suggesting a return to the poetic self.”

Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Polygreen CEO and founder of PCAI, states: “It is a great pleasure to collaborate with the institution All Greece One Culture as well as with the important and renowned artist and musician Konstantinos Bhtas”.
