My mother the goose: A contemporary musical fairy tale
Archaeological Museum of Pella
12.07 – 13.07.2025

The work My Mother the Goose: A Contemporary Musical Fairy Tale is a musical performance by the Oros Ensemble with original text by Dimitra Katiayi, musical composition by Ismeni Beck and narration by Mara Tsikara. The performance aims to create a new form of musical fairy tale, drawing inspiration from the classic musical work My Mother the Goose by Maurice Ravel. Combining elements from tradition and the Greek fairy tale, the performance aspires to renew and place the genre in a contemporary context. Thus, Ravel’s original work is adapted for a small ensemble by the Oros Ensemble and converses with the original musical fairy tale Without by the poet Dimitra Katiachi. The aim is to bring together the past, present and future of the fairy tale in a musical performance for everyone.
