The Centre for Entrepreneurship (C4E) of the University of Cyprus announces the launch of the Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition (CyEC) 2025.
As every year, the competition is organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship (C4E) at the University of Cyprus under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. It promotes innovation and entrepreneurship within the context of a modern, innovation-driven economy.
The competition is open to early-stage startups, individuals with pioneering and innovative ideas, as well as experienced professionals from the business and research communities in Cyprus. This dynamic community is committed to empowering and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives.
As a business development competition with a focus on early-stage companies, CyEC offers ambitious teams a platform to receive guidance and support from experienced mentors and industry leaders.
The competition aims to help innovative business initiatives grow into viable and globally-oriented companies, with an emphasis on understanding the balance between problem and solution, as well as product-market fit.
Applications can be submitted through the official competition website: https://cyec.org.cy/
Applicants may choose between two categories:
- Accelerator Category, for ideas that are in an early stage (application period: July 21, 2025, to September 10, 2025).
- LaunchPad Category, for more mature ideas and companies that have already launched their services or products in the market (application period: July 21, 2025 to November 3, 2025).
Detailed criteria for each category can be found on the official competition website (www.cyec.org.cy).
Following a selection process, the teams selected for the Accelerator category will participate in a business acceleration program designed to help them refine their ideas and business plans. At the end of the program, the teams will participate in two pitch events: a private pitch to the judging committee and a public presentation during the Entrepreneurship Forum, held a few days later, in front of an audience that includes members of the press, investors, academics, and business professionals. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
In addition to the Accelerator program, each team will be assigned dedicated mentors who will offer personalized advice, solutions, and creative challenges to help further develop their business idea.
Over the past few years, more than 220 applications have been submitted, with previous winners including Malloc, Bolsterup, Heroes Made, IQ3Solar, and Elysia Solutions.
The main sponsor of CyEC 2025 is the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, and the communication sponsor is Digital Tree E-Publishers.
