The School of Applied Arts and Sustainable Design of the Hellenic Open University in collaboration with the Drama International Short Film Festival, organizes the  1st International Conference on Cinema Screenplay, Practice and Research at 12, 13, 14 December, in Drama and online.

The Conference will be held in a hybrid format with face-to-face and distance sessions. The main purpose of the Conference is to open a broader debate on current issues related to practice and research in the field of cinema and audiovisual arts, while exploring the possibilities of cooperation between educational institutions and professional bodies active in this field.

The thematic axes of the Conference approach a series of thematic fields related to film writing and research in accordance with the undergraduate programme of studies “Studies in Film Writing, Practice and Research” of the Hellenic Academy of Sciences, as well as the broader scientific, artistic and social implications of cinema.

The selected papers will be published in an electronic edition of the Conference Proceedings with ISBN and DOI.

The Conference is about to focus on the above sectors : Screenwriting, Directing, Film Theory, Film History, Animation, Editing & Special Effects, Cinema and Education, Artificial Intelligence in Cinema, Music and Sound in Cinema, Direction of Photography and Cinematographic Lighting, Cinema and Literature, Environmental Documentary and Animation

– 30 August, 2024: Abstracts’ Deadline

– 10 October, 2024: Notice of Admission

– 15 November, 2024: receipt of the final form of contributions with corresponding deposit of the participation fee of the articles in the Conference.

– 30 November, 2024: Final Programme announcement

– 12, 13, 14 December, 2024: Holding of the Conference

Corresponding certificates will be issued for each contribution and for attendance.
