ESTIA NEA SMYRNI announces a nationwide competition for the awarding of books with content related to History – Tradition – Folklore – Customs – Traditions, etc. of the unforgettable Greek homelands beyond the Aegean Sea (Asia Minor, Pontus, Eastern Thrace, and Constantinople).

These prizes are awarded in memory of the first President and founder of ESTIA NEA SMYRNI, PANOS K. CHALDEZOS.

2025, 2026 and 2027 AWARDS

THE FOLLOWING PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED:
FIRST PRIZE – SECOND PRIZE & THIRD PRIZE.

In addition, commendations will be awarded to the fourth, fifth, and sixth best projects.

The projects will be classified into the following categories:

A. Literary (prose)
B. Literary (poetry)
C. Folklore
D. Testimonials
E. Historical
F. Theater script
G. Historical documentary up to 10 minutes long.

Authors wishing to participate in the above competition must be at least 18 years of age and are requested to submit a relevant application and submit it by 31/1/2028 to ESTIA NEAS SMYRNIS, Konstantinou Paleologou 1, 17121, Nea Smyrni Attica, four (4) copies of their books, published during the three-year period 2025, 2026, and 2027, to be considered by the competent special evaluation committee.
The committee will have completed the selection process by the end of May 2028, at which point the date for the presentation of the above awards and commendations will be announced at a special ceremony.
