The Municipality of Chania and the Region of Crete co-organize the 4th Chania Book Festival, which will take place from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 June 2025, with the main theme “Our home, the planet”. The venue is the Venetian Harbour of the city, between the Centre for Mediterranean Architecture and the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre, while the official opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday 24 June at the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre.

The Festival has become a reference point for the literary and cultural life of the city, with an echo not only in Greece but also internationally, and we invite you to participate actively, by voluntarily supporting the implementation of this year’s programme.

The basic requirements for participation include excellent communication skills, good knowledge of Greek and English, as well as the willingness to contribute to an event dedicated to books and culture.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by contributing to the organisation and implementation of the events, with tasks such as welcoming and serving the public and supporting the smooth flow of the programme, always in collaboration with the Festival’s project team.
