The series of theatrical performances of the Patras International Festival continues at 9.00 on Saturday 21 September at the Municipal Summer Theatre with the presentation of the play “The Gamblers” directed by Giorgos Koutlis.
The play was written by the great Russian playwright and novelist Nikolai Gogol and published in 1842 with the author offering the audience a ” demonic ” mystery comedy.
Yannis Niarros, Vassilis Magouliotis, Elias Moulas, Alexandros Chrysanthopoulos, Thanasis Dimou, Giorgos Tzavaras and Giorgos Boukaouris meet on stage for one of the most frantic journeys into the world of bluffing and risk in this unforgettable adrenaline comedy.
Live music, unexpected improvisations and frantic humour in a performance – a mirage, a farce of situations, about the art of deception: performance or reality, actor or role, perpetrator or victim, truth or lie, everything gets confused and finally, all that remains is the game.
