
The City of Athens is organizing once again the festival “Summer in Athens 2025,” featuring a rich program of 58 free cultural events. The festival is curated by the Organization of Culture, Sports, and Youth of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA). For 29 days, until July 20, 2025, 41 locations across the city and its 7 Municipal Communities—squares, parks, open courts, and courtyards of cultural venues—will be filled with music, dance, children’s theater, transforming into spaces of creativity and gathering throughout the city.
The “Rendezvous in Our Neighborhood” in the coming days includes a series of concerts, dance performances, and theater for children. From Friday, June 27 to Thursday, July 3, 2025, both young and old will have the opportunity to enjoy children’s shows such as “Mowgli – The Jungle Book,” “Turn Off the Light,” and “After the Rain,” as well as musical evenings featuring traditional, folk, and Mediterranean repertoire with choirs, rebetiko trios, and well-known performers including Pantelis Ambazis, Vasilis Skoutas, Dimitris Mitarakis, Giannis Zarias, and Katerina Makavou. Particularly noteworthy are the dance performances “Matter of Choice,” “Delosη,” “Behind the Door,” and “Cambio(a),” which explore themes of identity, memory, and inner transformation. The program culminates with the musical gathering “Mediteranneo” featuring Iro Saia and Zacharias Karounis, taking the audience on a journey through the Mediterranean with diverse sounds and songs from different places and cultures.
