On Thursday, June 26, and Friday, June 27, the Clearing of Stavros Niarchos Park at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) transforms into an open space of coexistence and creation, where cultures meet, communicate, and co-shape a common place—through traditions, narratives, arts, and sounds from different countries—at the Common Grounds festival.
The festival creates a vibrant and participatory space through cultural activities, workshops and interactive experiences open to the public, presented by the participating institutions and organisations. At the heart: dialogue and co-creation.
Common Grounds means common ground – but also common experience.
The SNFCC issued an open call to communities, groups and collectives from all over the world that live and work in Greece and represent different cultures and countries. Embassies and/or associations from 13 countries (Albania, Argentina, Austria, Austria, Brazil, Brazil, France, Germany, Georgia, Japan, India, Kenya, Mexico, Moldova, Moldova, Norway) responded and a diverse program with a multitude of activities was formulated: From Brazilian samba, Kenyan traditional dance and Argentinean milonga classes, to Mexican piñata and Japanese ikebana workshops, but also many sports activities and live music and dance performances. The Common Grounds festival invites the public to participate, interact and get to know different cultural traditions that highlight common places through diversity.
