The Ministry of Culture and Sports is organising the communication action “Green Cultural Routes” with a number of events for the general public and the student community throughout the country from 22 to 25 May.

Admission to the events is free for participants.

The “Green Cultural Routes” were designed by the Directorate of Archaeological Museums, Exhibitions and Educational Programmes as part of the participation in the National Action Plan for Education for Sustainable Development. The aim of the action is to promote sustainable development by educating citizens on the protection and promotion of the country’s cultural wealth and natural environment. The action was implemented for the first time in 2012 in 3 Regional Units and since then it has been continuously expanded with the participation of 2024 actors from 35 Regional Units.

This year’s celebration involves 46 Regional and Special Regional Services of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage from 37 Regional Units of the Territory in cooperation with many Municipalities, Primary and Secondary Education Directorates of the Ministry of Defence, as well as many non-public museums, Holy Metropolises, Environmental Education Centres, University Schools, schools, cultural associations, environmental organisations, associations and citizens’ cooperatives, and many volunteers.

From Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 May, the organizers invite the public to be informed and entertained by participating in informative presentations, educational programmes, thematic tours, excursions, walks, hikes, cycling routes, artistic events, etc.
