The Ministry of Culture announces the proposals selected by the Special Evaluation Committee for the programme of the institution “All Greece One Culture 2025”, with the thematic axis “The perception of the past – Today as tomorrow and yesterday (Andreas Embiricos)”.
Now in its sixth year of existence, the institution continues its course and is being strengthened artistically, giving the opportunity to creators and artistic groups to compose original works, offering high quality cultural productions that combine cultural heritage with contemporary creation. The events of the 2025 programme cover a wide range of fields of artistic expression. They will be presented in archaeological sites, monuments and museums, outside the Region of Attica, creating, as every year, employment conditions for a significant number of employees, in culture, but also local collaborators.
This year, more than any other year, the thematic axis of the institution “The perception of the past – Today as tomorrow and yesterday (Andreas Embiricos)” significantly highlights the site-specific conditions that archaeological sites throughout the country subject to in the creation of artistic works, inviting artists to confront time and especially the past and its imprint on the present and the future.
The Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, after being informed by the President of the Committee, George Koumentakis, on the completion of the selection process and the immediate publication of the results, made the following statement: “The institution “All of Greece One Culture 2025” continues with great success for the sixth consecutive year to be a meeting point between cultural heritage and contemporary creation. It has continued to be the most successful year in the history of cultural heritage, and this year, perhaps more than any other year because of its theme. With the theme “The perception of the past – Today as tomorrow and yesterday” by Andreas Embiricos, this year’s programme invites creators to confront time, interpret the past and connect it with the present and the future. The past is a perpetual source of inspiration for contemporary creators. The fusion of the creations of the past, our cultural heritage, with contemporary creation is more necessary than ever. The institution “All of Greece One Culture” is not only limited to the creation of artistic events, but also contributes to the creation of favourable employment conditions for artists and cultural workers, as well as for the local partners who support the production of events. We look forward with great interest to experiencing together the artistic proposals of 2025. The events will be presented in archaeological sites, monuments and museums outside the Region of Attica, highlighting the uniqueness of each place and enhancing cultural decentralization. I would like to express my warmest congratulations to the Artistic Director of the National Opera George Koumentakis, for our always productive and effective collaboration. I would also like to thank the partners of the National Opera and the staff of the Ministry of Culture, thanks to whose experience and dedication the institution continues to evolve and strengthen the cultural identity of our country.”
