CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

The Department of Environment of the School of Technology of the University of Thessaly invites applications for the Postgraduate Programme of Studies entitled “Environmental Management” for the academic year 2025-2026.

The objective of the Postgraduate Programme of Studies “Environmental Management” (Government Gazette B3608/11-07-2022) is to provide advanced scientific knowledge and technologies, knowledge of legislative frameworks and their implementation and methodological approaches related to Environmental Sciences.

For the award of the Diploma of the MSc, the following is required:

  • The successful completion and examination of ten (10) compulsory courses.
  • The preparation and successful examination of a Postgraduate Diploma Thesis.

 

Specialization in thematic areas, according to the professional orientation and interests of the candidates, is achieved through the selection of a suitable topic for the diploma thesis.

The minimum duration of studies for the postgraduate program (P.M.S.) with full-time attendance is three (3) semesters, and with part-time attendance is six (6) semesters. The Department of Environment has the necessary material and technical infrastructure and supports all the required modern educational tools for conducting the courses and other activities of the postgraduate program.

The courses of the postgraduate program are taught on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the premises of the Department of Environment in Larissa. Teaching is conducted in person and 35% via distance learning.

Candidates admitted to the postgraduate program “Environmental Management” are graduates of Higher Education Institutions (Universities and Technological Educational Institutes) of Greece and equivalent recognized foreign institutions whose degrees have been recognized as equivalent by DOATAP (Hellenic NARIC). Specifically, graduates of Departments of Technology Schools, Polytechnic Schools, Natural Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences, as well as graduates of Pedagogical Departments, Departments of Economics and Social Sciences, and Teacher Training Schools with relevant experience in the subject area of the postgraduate program, are eligible to attend.

Students from foreign institutions must submit a certificate of equivalence and recognition from the competent recognition authority DOATAP. In the absence of this certificate, the recognition of the foreign institution and the awarded degree is determined by the University of Thessaly, provided that the above are included in the National Registry of Recognized Foreign Institutions and the National Registry of Types of Degrees from Recognized Foreign Institutions, according to the provisions of Article 304 of Law 4957/2022.

  1. Curriculum vitae (CV).
  1. Letter of interest (a brief statement of academic and research interests, including the reasons why the candidate is interested in this specific postgraduate program).
  1. Copy of degree from a Greek Higher Education Institution (University or Technological Educational Institute). In the case of graduates from foreign universities, a recognition certificate from DIKATSA/DOATAP must be submitted (academic recognition procedures according to Article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply). Candidates who have completed their studies but are awaiting graduation must submit a relevant certificate from their Department accompanied by a detailed transcript and degree grade. Candidates who are about to graduate must submit a detailed transcript showing the number of declared courses for which grades are still pending.
  1. Certificate of detailed undergraduate transcript.
  1. Postgraduate degrees (if any).
  1. Work experience (if any).
  1. Recognized diplomas or certificates of English language proficiency. Language certificates accepted by ASEP at level B2 or higher are accepted. This requirement is waived for holders of undergraduate or postgraduate degrees from foreign universities where the language of instruction is English.
  1. Certificate of computer skills.
  1. Two (2) letters of recommendation.
