The philosophy of the Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program “Applied Clinical Sociology and Art” is based on the principles of social justice, social empowerment, emancipation, and collective action. In an era like today’s, characterized by increasing uncertainty, social crises, and social conflicts, new and urgent needs arise for creative, social, and artistic intervention, as well as for new participatory tools for research and planning. The Program “Applied Clinical Sociology and Art,” through both theoretical and practical training of students, aims to develop these new participatory tools with a focus on critical approach, social change, and artistic practice. Artistic practice is conceived through applied research and an experiential process that highlights the visual art object as a meeting point for people, rather than merely as a simple artistic skill.

Research Objectives

The subjects of the Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program include the education of postgraduate students in: a) the design and implementation of social and artistic interventions aimed at the social inclusion of vulnerable social groups and/or those facing particular social, psychological, and other challenges; b) the acquisition of specialized scientific skills in social animation, social mediation, coordination, and networking of social groups, agencies, organizations, and other collectives; c) the acquisition of specialized scientific skills in collaborative and participatory methodology; and d) the design and implementation of innovative methods in educational and pedagogical practice. Graduates will be able to work in structures, organizations, and agencies involved in prevention, social mediation, therapy, and reintegration.
