The Ministry of Culture, in the framework of its strategy for the promotion of cultural heritage and the education of new generations, presented, at the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, the new educational kit “Treasure Hunt at the Museum”, an innovative activity for children of the 5th and 6th grade of primary school. The initiative is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Region of Attica, aiming to strengthen the contact of students with Greek culture.

The educational kit

The educational kit “Treasure Hunt at the Museum” has been designed specifically for Primary School children and aims at their active participation in the museum experience, enhancing their experiential connection with the modern Greek cultural heritage. It consists of eleven thematic folders, corresponding to the exhibition units and the Museum’s courtyard, and covering topics such as traditional clothing, housing, food, work, religious life and the entertainment of modern Greeks.

The material includes forty-seven activities and thirty-five clever puzzles, which activate children’s observation, imagination, memory, synthetic thinking and aesthetic expression, and incorporates ten videos from the permanent exhibition in QR code format. It is accompanied by photographs, explanatory texts and illustrations and is presented in a stylish, ergonomic design in a strap envelope that facilitates navigation through the exhibition space.

The first students who received the educational material and toured the premises of the Museum of Modern Greek Culture were from the 74th Primary School of Athens “Vasilios Kambanis”, the 1st Primary School of Kifissia “Georgios Drosinis” and the 1st Primary School of Peania.
