Description

The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Patras announces that during the academic year 2025-2026, the Master’s Program in Public Health will be offered for the eleventh year.

With an emphasis on prevention, promotion, and health policies, the program responds to the contemporary needs of the sector, providing tools for understanding and managing social and epidemiological challenges.

The MSc program has successfully completed the certification process by the National Authority for Higher Education (ETHAAE). The certification confirms the academic quality, scientific excellence, and compliance of the program with the standards of the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

With an international orientation and interdisciplinary approach, the program is aimed at those who wish to advance professionally and actively contribute to the health of populations, both in Greece and worldwide. Specifically, it focuses on:

– Addressing health issues in the community

– Studying health from a social perspective

– Using scientific data to help shape health policies and evaluate programs.

The MSc program is recognised by the ASEP (Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection) and is specially designed to meet the needs of professionals, with classes held on Thursdays (afternoon), Fridays (afternoon), and Saturdays (morning). Teaching is hybrid, allowing for both in-person and distance learning. In addition, there is the option of part-time study, with twice the normal duration, for greater flexibility.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will have opportunities to work in public health services, hospitals and health units, public and private research groups, companies, NGOs, international health organizations, as well as academic and educational institutions.
